How it works

Three steps, then stop worrying

Fit the ear tag

Clip it into the animal's ear and scan the QR on the back. A code is texted to your registered number to confirm the tag is yours.

It checks in by itself

The tag wakes on its own schedule and reports over the mobile network with the GPS off, so the battery lasts. You see each check-in in the app.

The device

Built for the hills, not the farmyard

  • cell_tower Works across the whole hill. It reports over the mobile network, not Bluetooth — you do not have to be anywhere near the animal.
  • battery_saver GPS only when you ask. Day to day it checks in with the GPS off. Ask it to find the animal and it wakes and reports until you stop it.
  • sms A text with a map link. Every location is also sent by SMS, so it still reaches you where your own phone has no internet.
  • schedule_send Instructions wait for it. Send a command while the tag is asleep and it picks it up on its next check-in — nothing is lost.
  • history Every check-in is kept. Look back over where an animal has been, with the date and time of each fix.
  • qr_code_scanner Scan the tag to pair it. A QR on the back links the tag to your account, confirmed by a code texted to your registered number.
